Fake Death- Tigers Jaw
-------
I am 16 now w0w.
I'm getting my permit sometime this week, it really sucks you can't take the tests on the weekends.
I guess i'll tell y'all about NYC.
it was just me, my mom, and my bff chelsea.
the bus ride there was weird. me and my friend chelsea called it the "sus bus" and i had to explain to like 500 people what sus meant today.
it was like, 7 hours because we have to go through several states even though we live in new york state.
we got there are like, ten at night and we took the subways to near my mom's friend laurie's apartment. i got stuck in the turnstile, of course. i really liked her apartment and she had a bunch of cool albums (Fugazi, Best Coast, Morrisey, etc.).
We dropped off our luggage and got fancy pizza from this place called Barboncino. It was really delish and i loved the atmosphere of the place.
then, we went back to the apartment and went to bed.
i woke up at like, six and i did not wake up past seven the whole entire trip and it sucked because i needed sleep.
for breakfast, my mom and laurie got us chocolate-chip muffins from The Pulp and the Bean.
and then we set out for all the tourist sites that i've already seen before, but they were still fun.
first, we went to American Girl because my mom wanted to buy stuff for my sister. we went to Jamba juice and then my mom made me take a pic with this weird Mario on the street and he told me he loved me and it was the most terrifying moment of my life.
then we went to Toys-R-Us and it was 500x less cool than last time i was there.
we went through Central Park to get to Dylan's Candy Bar and it was really pretty as usual.
At Dylan's, I got the the french toast maccaron, the smore's one and a donut pillow. the french toast one was delish and the smore's one was kinda bland, but still good.
then i don't really remember what we did after that, but we went to St. Marks Place and it was a cool street. we went to Trash and the lady on the bottom floor was trying to hard to be punk and she kept shooting us judgy looks. then, we went to go eat dinner at this bar place and i got a BLT and it was yummy. my mom and laurie wanted to stay there for a bit, so they let me and chelsea explore the street. i was a little nervous at first because St. Mark's Place looks a little sketchy, but it was fine. We went to the upper level of Trash and that was much better and the cashier lady was totes nice.
then we went to urban outfitters, i have never been in one before because we do not have them around here and i liked it v much.
i let chelsea get her things, but i didn't buy anything because i wanted to see if there were other things i wanted first idk. we went back to the St. Mark's area after Urban Outfitters and we went to this little place called the Sock Man's or something. it looks really sketchy from the outside like they're more like sock drug dealers or something, but the employees were very nice.
then, we met back up with my mom and laurie and we went back to Urban and i actually bought things because my mom paid for half.
I bought:
-a black circle skirt
-ombre blue lace tights
-black lace tights
-3 pairs of socks
-white Oxford-ish shoes
-a crappy e.l.f. bronzer/blush duo
ye
then we went back home because we were tired as heck.
the next day was kinda lame.
we went to the flea market and it was severely overpriced, do not recommend going at all.
i wanted to go to thrift stores, but we kept going into vintage shops, which are essentially just really expensive thrift shops.
we gave up on that adventure and went to Junior's to eat. I got the fish fry and the German Chocolate layer cake. it was delish and i wish i had another slice right now.
my mom started to feel sick so we just went home and then laurie took us to the park in Brooklyn, (((we were in Brooklyn))) i forgot what it was called. i liked it better than central park because there was a lot less people around, it was really nice.
then we went home and we ordered mexican food and watched the Hobbit.
the next day, we didn't go out or anything because we had to be to the bus terminal by 10:30 because my mom wanted to be an hour early.
the bus ride back wasn't that bad and then when we got home, my dad and sister unveiled a birthday cake they made me and it was cute.
so yeah.
that was my nyc trip.
i don't think i want to go there again for awhile.
